Dive into Florida's Flats for a Sun-Soaked Fishing Adventure!
Hey there! Just got back from an awesome flats fishing trip with Thenna out of St. Petersburg. May is a great time to hit the flats here in Florida - the water's warming up and the fish are getting active. We headed out at 1:00 am with SRS Adventures for our Mate's Fee Only Card Shared trip. The weather was perfect - clear conditions all day long, and the water looked great for spotting fish.
We tried out a bunch of different techniques on the flats, mixing things up to see what would work best. The clear conditions made it easier to spot any movement in the water, so we were always on the lookout. We moved around a bit, trying different spots and depths. It was fun showing Thenna the ropes and pointing out all the little details you need to watch for when you're flats fishing.
Though we didn't manage to land any big prize, but we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company. That's the thing about fishing - sometimes it's just about being out there, soaking in the day. We saw some cool stuff - birds diving, baitfish moving around, and even caught glimpses of a few fish that weren't quite ready to bite. It was a good day to learn more about reading the water and understanding how fish behave on the flats.
