Sunrise Flats Adventure: Early Rise, Big Skies in St. Petersburg

I had a great time out on the flats with Amir today as part of our Mate's Fee Only Card Shared trip with SRS Adventures. We met up in St. Petersburg at 1:00 am, which is pretty early, but it's worth it to get the best shot at fish. May is a fantastic month for flats fishing around here - the water's warming up and the fish are getting more active.

The weather was on our side with clear conditions all day, and the water looked great for fishing. We tried out a variety of techniques, working different spots on the flats. Even though we didn't manage to land any big prize, we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company. That's the thing about fishing - sometimes the fish just aren't biting, but it's always a good day when you're out there.

Throughout the day, we kept moving and trying different spots. The clear conditions made it easy to see what was going on in the water, which is always a plus when you're on the flats. We saw some good signs of fish activity, even if we couldn't get them to bite. It's all part of the challenge and fun of flats fishing. Amir seemed to enjoy learning about the different techniques we use out here.
