Sunrise Strikes: Epic Red Snapper Battle on St. Pete's Flats

Hey there! Just got back from an awesome Flats fishing trip with SRS Adventures out of St. Petersburg. May is a great time for fishing in Florida, with the waters warming up and the fish getting more active. We met up at 1:00 am, which might seem early, but it's perfect for catching the fish when they're most hungry.

The weather was on our side with clear conditions all day, and the water was great for fishing. We had Thenna on board, and we were ready to try out a variety of techniques to land some fish. The flats were looking promising, and we started off by targeting some of the usual suspects in these waters. It didn't take long before we got our first bite, and after a good fight, we pulled in a nice Red Snapper. That's always a great catch, and it set the tone for the rest of the trip.

Throughout the day, we moved around the flats, trying different spots and techniques. The clear conditions made it easier to spot fish, and we had a few more close calls with some big ones that got away. But that's fishing for you - sometimes they bite, sometimes they don't. What matters is that we had a great time out on the water, enjoying the Florida sunshine and the thrill of the chase.
