Reeling in Feisty Pigfish and Endless Laughter on the Shared Trip Stage
Today, Anoosha Shetty and I headed out for a Shared Trip Stage with Thenna'DF in Columbus, Ohio, and it was a day to remember. February can be a tricky time for fishing around these parts, but the weather was working in our favor - partly cloudy skies and ideal conditions to target some inshore species. As soon as we got our gear set up at the meeting spot, we were eager to get our lines in the water and see what the day had in store.
We started off using a variety of fishing techniques, working the inshore waters in search of some feisty Pigfish. It didn't take long before the action picked up, and Anoosha was soon hooked into a nice one. She handled it perfectly, keeping steady pressure on the rod and eventually bringing it alongside the boat. The Pigfish put up a great fight, and we were both thrilled to get it in the boat. Over the next couple of hours, we continued to work the area, landing a few more of these tough, scrappy fish. The bites were consistent, and it was just an all-around fun morning on the water.
While the fishing was the main focus, it was the overall experience that really made this trip so memorable. Anoosha was great company, and we spent plenty of time swapping stories and sharing a few laughs in between casts. That's what these kinds of trips are all about - getting out on the water, enjoying the day, and creating lasting memories, whether you're reeling in a trophy or not. And with the Pigfish we landed, we definitely had some great highlights to look back on.
