Sunrise Stalking: Flats Fishing Adventure in St. Petersburg

Hey there! Just got back from an awesome flats fishing trip with Kumar in St. Petersburg, Florida. May is a great time to hit the flats here - the water's warming up and the fish are getting active. We met up at 1:00 AM, which might seem early, but it's the perfect time to catch the fish when they're most hungry. The weather was on our side with clear conditions all day, and the water looked great for spotting fish.

We tried out a variety of techniques on the flats, keeping things interesting. The clear water made it easier to spot any movement, but those fish can be tricky! We moved around a bit, trying different spots and adjusting our approach. Even though we didn't manage to land any big prize, we still had a great time out on the water, enjoying the scenery and good company. As we worked the flats, we saw some promising signs - a few follows and even had a couple of close calls. The clear conditions let us see right into the water, which is always a treat. Kumar was a trooper, staying patient and keeping a positive attitude throughout the trip.
